What do a test pilot, top gun student, F-14 pilot, and aircraft salesman all have in common? The answer is Mr. Gary Black. If you want to hear some stories, you need to listen to Gary during his time on SimpleFlight Radio. Gary provided some excellent insight on some of the things he is participating in on at Cirrus Aircraft. The Vision Jet is getting closer to delivery and the G5 SR-22 is already out. Cirrus has also made a very great partnership with ICON aircraft.

Have you ever thought about starting a flying club? The guys from Ground Effect Advisors have really got something going on. They are the group to launch an Aviation Scholarship to Start a Flying Club! Think about how that is different from other aviation scholarships. Most of them out there have really a great effect on just one pilot or person. A scholarship to start a flying club goes beyond just helping one pilot, it will help many and the airport community that will support them. Be sure to apply before May 1st, 2013! For more information and details on the scholarship visit www.StartAFlyingClub.com.

How many cranks does it take to get the center of the landing gear lock on a Boeing B29? Steve knows! Tonight we had Steve Schaprio editor of the AOPA's Club Connect Newsletter and freelance aviation journalist. Steve is also part of the CAF - Commemorative Air Force which is formally known as the Confederate Air Force. He has covered many stories of people, emotion and the Boeing B-29 "FIFI." It is so important to preserve the history on one of the airplanes that changed the world. Think about that for a second, how would the world be different if the B-29 didn't exist? When you listen to the show take note of Steve's passion for the airplane, history and personal stories behind it. Have fun!

Its a bird! Its a plane! Its an Air Traffic Controller! Its a Pilot! Its a writer! No....its just Rob Mark. Rob has held nearly every job in aviation, not because he can't hold a job, but because he loves the industry! He has been in pursuit of having a lot of fun and developing his love for aviation. We had a lot of fun having him on the show, he really has developed a great voice for sharing aviation with the "outside world." He has an award winning blog, JetWhine.com and is a host on the AirplaneGeeks podcast!

When you listen to the show, you will hear one consistant thing that Rob believes in. Sharing aviation! He orated a great message about how its our responsibility (the users of aviation) to stand up for ourselves, make the industry better, and share aviation. He applauded all the entrepreneurs in aviation! Al and Marc were in violent agreement with Rob thinking that aviation is a great place to have a business!

It's hard to believe the legendary Amelia Earhart could be any more impressive than tonight's guest.  Beyond just sharing the same name, today's Amelia shares a passion for aviation and for potential of one's life.  Amelia was kind enough to step away from a personal engagement to join us and talk about her realization of the impact she could have on the youth of the world.  Since that moment, Amelia has devoted all her energy to achieve her goals and connect with the community around her.  To get more insight into who she is, check out her charitable work with Wings Over The Rockies Air and Space Museum and check out her blog at flywithamelia.wordpress.com.  Is she burning the candle at both ends, or just lighting the way for those in search of something more?  You decide.

Professional Skills for the Private Pilot! That is exactly what Pat Flannigan is trying to tackle. Pat is the founder of AviationChatter.com. Its really exciting and rewarding to hear a young airline pilot try and give back. There are many tips and tricks of a professional flight crew that would certainly help general aviation flying. Have you ever thought about using a flow? How about ever using the landing lights to remind you if you've been cleared to land or not? All these little things can help the pilots every day. Keep your eyes pealed for Pat and his new aviation podcast and video show. Marc also announced that we had a new aviation scholarship out there. Ground Effect Advisers has launched a scholarship to start a flying club. For more information check out www.startaflyingclub.com.

Heck yeah! Talk about a honor and a pleasure having Danny Carpenter from KingAirNation.com on the show. You can hear it in Danny's voice that he is passionate about Beechcraft King Air's! If you aren't then you aren't a real pilot! We are just kidding of course....(sorta). Danny and King Air Nation have developed a pretty awesome community. If you fly, want to fly, own, work on, want to own....you get the point...a King Air, then joining is a must! Another great thing about Danny is that aviation relies on guys like him. Aviation is a huge industry and its not just pilots. Take look at King Air Nation and see what Al was posting on the site. We think you'll like it!

If you aren't impressed by this guy, then you need to listen again! Tonight Al and Marc had Jacob Eiting on SimpleFlight Radio! There is a lot to be excited about in aviation with guys like Jake coming through the ranks. Not only is he a pilot, but he owns his own airplane, blogger at www.jacobeiting.com and has been on some great aviation trips with his wife! Did we mention that he is 25!? Jake is a perfect example of bringing outside talents into  aviation to make it better. He is software developer that has made little tools to help people enhance their aviation experience. The show was also flooded with emails, text messages and Tweets! Al and Marc absolutely love the feedback and interaction. We are having fun and hope you are too. In case you missed it, enjoy all the products that Jake has developed for our enjoyment.

Happy New Year!!!

We started the year off with a bang. Al Carrino came on the show talking about how airplanes and aviation can be used for business. Al is the president of Pureaire. He was also the December feature article in Piper Flyers Magazine. Aviation is a great infrastructure on how to build your business. It saves time! It saves money! And....its FUN! What are your thoughts on the idea? Can small business benefit from aviation? We certainly think it can. Al chimed in with his perspective of being a corporate pilot. We also had Ryan Braun in the studio, he had his own perspective on the issue as well.  We also had a ground speed test! Who has had the highest ground speed!?

Happy New Year!!!

We say good bye to 2012 with our favorite moments in aviation this year. We revisited this past years guests and what they are working on. Everybody is really doing incredible things in aviation. The amount of value that everyone is adding to aviation is incredible. 2012 was an exciting year and we are looking forward to seeing the results in 2013!

Every pilot should have some aviation new years resolutions! Twitter was going nuts last night with what everybody was looking forward to getting accomplished in 2013. Al said that he'd like to get a type rating. Marc said he'd like to get his commercial pilots rating. What is yours?

Major thanks to Sam Wiltzius of WiredForFlight.com for driving down from Oshkosh, WI and being on the show with us!

SimpleFlight Radio has become a very fun Radio Show that has become part of aviation lives! We can't thank you enough for listening and all the feedback that we have gotten so far. THANK YOU!!
