What a night. With storms descending on Chicago, Al had to divert, delaying his arrival to SimpleFlight studios until just prior to going live. At the same time, multiple people showed up to watch the show live in studio. One of those, was tonight's guest, Lee Karas, well known for his unique aviation photographs (leeakaras.zenfolio.com). Lee's use of helicopters to capture aviation from "above" brings a whole new perspective to the art of aviation. Marc and Al were also joined by Lora Yowell of Aviation Universe (aviationuniverse.us) who picked a winner for one of Lee's framed photographs. Lora also chimed in during hangar talk to lend her expertise to questions about when to load and activate an approach in your GPS. The guys also discussed the great quarter aviation manufacturers had with a double digit gains in shipments and revenue. Also discussed were some of those special island airports that don't seem to make it to the destinations list of the mainstream pilot. We're going to change that by putting a flyout together for Put-In-Bay, OH (3W2). Maybe you'll join us!!!! Regardless, thanks for joining us for our weekly get together. Wishing all of you Blue Skies and Tailwinds. http://traffic.libsyn.com/simpleflight/2014_05_11_Lee_Karas.mp3
