If you've ever had a concern about today's youth and their ability to focus on a long term goal and do what it takes to get there, you have to listen to tonight's show. Kyle Fasso (Facebook -> 2771C Progress) stopped by an airport at age 14 and got a job helping an A&P work on planes. At age 15 he bought a Cessna 170B, badly in need of restorative work. Fast forward 4 years, and Kyle is still at it, getting close to his dream of making the plane better than it ever was. And once done, fly it around the country to inspire other young people to follow their dream. It's an amazing story that we know you will enjoy. Al and Marc also welcomed the BoldMethod guys (boldmethod.com), who not only updated us on their clothing sales, but led a discussion on the dreaded "loss of an engine" and the follow on decision of where to land.... on a road or a field. As usual, the answer is "it depends". But not all of us come to the same conclusion. What do you think? By the end of the show, Marc had talked about changes in the FAA's views on the use of sims in training, the upcoming Solar Impulse trip around the world, and the audacity of the Canadians, who feel they can provide common sense guidance to the integration of the UAS (unmanned aerial systems; aka drones) into the national airspace system. On second thought, it appears they have actually figured it out! And finally, no show would be complete without a review of Al and Marc's journeys over the past week. Sounds like Al "found himself". Listen and enjoy. All the best to our loyal listeners. Wishing you strong tailwinds and sunny blue skies! http://traffic.libsyn.com/simpleflight/2014_12_07_Kyle_Fasso_edit.mp3
