How often do you practice manuevers that you'll rarely practice and might often need? This week was full of great examples in aviation where not only pilots might need their skills. The conversation expanded into other areas of aviation where skills might be rarely practiced but offten used. How often does ATC practice airliners going around or aborting take-offs. After listening to the ATC tapes of the British Airways 777 in Las Vegas aborting its take of, you'd guess that they practice it all the time (take a listen)!
