The time changed, and the aviation world changed with it. Thanks to Spring Break, former guest and aviation college student, Josh Blain (@blainplanes) stopped by the SimpleFlight studios to join Marc in a Hangar Flying discussion. How many students do you know that have a paid gig to sit right seat in a King Air? The lucky ones!!! The discussion moved to many other topics, including Marc's retelling of a special trip that included the most beautiful sight of flying over a pre dawn Chicago with an awakening sky to the East. Check out his Facebook page for a view of what he saw. Another springtime sighting included one of the few pressurized Mooney's ever built, which was parked at the KEYE ramp. Safety topics are always in season and with Harrison Ford's lost engine and a Go Jet plane landing with a collapsed nose wheel at KORD, there was plenty of topics to cover. Even the dangers of flying a plane that hasn't been up in awhile. And on the topic of the passion of flight, Marc and Josh covered a group called the Mavericks, a team of four close friends aged from 69 to 78, who work hard to perfect their formation flying in true airshow fashion, without an audience. They love each other, the challenge, and the flying itself. An amazing story. For those of you that took the winter off, we hope you'll get out and enjoy the spring weather and reacquaint yourself with the joy of aviation. Regardless, please join us again next week for more SimpleFlight Aviation Radio. Blue Skies and Tailwinds! http://traffic.libsyn.com/simpleflight/2015_03_15_Josh_and_Marc.mp3
