Buckle up for this one. Emily Carpenter (Diamond Girl) is a new student pilot. But that's where the similarity stops when compared to most new students. After all, how many student pilots do you know that in their first 20 hours have flown a DA-40, a Pitts, a helicopter, and a Turbo Commander. Add to that her fear of flying and you begin to see why Emily is a student that we can all learn from. Listen to how our Diamond Girl faces each challenge with a "refuse to lose" attitude. Very inspiring and indeed a role model for all of us. With Al out of pocket, Lora Yowell (of aviationuniverse.us fame) joined Marc and gave us an update in her own goal of earning her US ATP license. Lora and Marc also discussed AOPA's reimagined 152, the Chicago Air and Water show, AOPA's exit from the EFB marketplace, and recent events at Malaysian Airlines. Finally, Lora put on her CFI hat to help Marc through some challenges he is facing as he works towards his Multi-Engine rating with instrument privileges. A great show, made special by you being a loyal member of the SimpleFlight radio family. Looking forward to continuing the fun next week. _http://traffic.libsyn.com/simpleflight/2014_08_17_Emily_Carpenter.mp3
