Success in many businesses is determined by getting the right message to the right people at the right time. That task falls squarely on those in charge of PR. Katie Gerber, VP of 451 Marketing, has been successfully achieving that mission for 15 years, and has of late applied her expertise in the aviation world. First, helping Surf Air show the world what it means to start an airline that sets the standard by which all airlines will be measured; and then to follow by creating a brand for Amelia Earhart that has literally taken off to stratospheric heights. Listen in as Katie talks about the chain of events that took her from her dream of being a Doctor, to her current role in helping businesses achieve greatness. Katie will tell you she loves to talk (although Marc got in a lot more trouble in his school days). After a few minutes of the interview, you'll understand why Al and Marc loved to listen.
Speaking of getting the word out, did anyone notice the new RNAV/GPS 22L approach at Midway Airport (KMDW) that puts all those Southwest 737's at 2400 feet over the Lake Michigan shoreline? Did anyone at the FAA think about the vast amount of GA traffic admiring the Chicago skyline at various altitudes from 2,000 feet to 3,000 feet. A hot topic that didn't get communicated until two days before the change and only via a letter that was not universally shared. Al and Marc do their best to get the word out.
Other topics include the excitement and the myths associated with landing at a Class Bravo airport; Al's trip to the Bahama's in a SR-22; the FAA's move to streamline and relax some of the certification obstacles for installing Angle of Attack instruments in certified planes; as well as their stream of consciousness discussion that always makes our listeners smile.
