Since 1946, the Institute of Aviation has been turning out pilots that represent the best of the best. Then in 2011, the board of Trustees did the unthinkable....they voted to shut down the program. Thanks to the perseverance of a diverse group of people, Parkland College (parkland.edu) was approached and they accepted the opportunity to take control of the program and ensure this important institution thrived. Listen in as Sybil Phillips, Dr. Kris Young, Don Talleur, and Jim Warren tell the story of what was and what will be for the Institute of Aviation. Al and Marc welcomed back Bold Method (BoldMethod.com) who brought us up to date on their organization and the exciting changes taking place. Check out their hoodies!!! Lots of news covering several comebacks was shared, including Eastern Airlines, Mooney's announcement of two exciting new models to be produced, and Google's lease of the old Moffett Federal Airfield, including the historic and iconic Hangar One. Nostalgia at its best! A great show made so by our guests and you, our listeners. Stay warm, and we wish you Blue Skies, and Tailwinds. http://traffic.libsyn.com/simpleflight/2014_11_16_Sybil_Phillips.mp3
